God Is an Astronaut

 God Is an Astronaut una banda de post-rock instrumental irlandesa. Se formaron en el año 2002 y ese mismo año lanzaron su álbum debut The End of the Beginning bajo su propio sello discográfico, llamado Revive Records Label. Tienen dos vídeos musicales para sus temas "The End of the Beginning" y "From Dust to the Beyond", que fueron transmitidos por MTV del Reino Unido y por MTV Europa. El nombre del grupo ha sido inspirado por una cita de la película Nightbreed, del famoso cineasta y escrito Clive Barker

 El nombre del primer disco está relacionado con la famosa frase del líder y Primer Ministro británico durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial, Winston Churchill, en un discurso acerca de la Segunda Batalla de El Alamein: "Now this is not the end, it is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning." ("Esto no es el fin, ni siquiera es el comienzo del final. Pero, posiblemente, sea el fin del comienzo.")
